Basketball is a team sport. The name defines the game. Putting a ball into a basket. If we can maximize our ability to score the ball efficiently and limit the opponent from doing the same, we give ourselves a good chance of winning each game.

We believe in TEACHING team basketball principles such as passing, movement, screening, cutting, and attacking matchups to create an advantage to put us in the best position to score the ball.

We will teach triggers and concepts through reps and habit to give players a clear understanding of what is expected while leaving room for creativity in the process. We will introduce actions that will highlight our team’s strengths to put them in situations they can excel in.

Defensively, no system is perfect but we look to take calculated risks in forcing the opponent to rely on other options to score than they are used to. We do not want the opponent to shoot high percentage shots and we will limit this by preventing lanes to the baskets and closing out on shooters to limit 3pt FGs. Defense is a team effort and all players on defense must be in sync and anticipate the developing play to react ahead of time.

Spiritual Life

Timothy Christian School Is dedicated to developing the students in their relationships with Christ through setting a biblical foundation that may guide them in everyday decisions and interactions. We partner with families to best discipline and train students up to mature them and draw them closer to who God has called them to be.

TCS has a 5% non-believer student body allowance for those who identify with other religions but are not actively practicing that faith.

Students have a bible curriculum and are involved in different ministries in the community. These opportunities are relative to each class and include:

  • Cedar Oaks Nursing Home

  • New York City Relief

    • serving poor areas in NYC by distributing food and clothing and sharing the gospel

  • Habitat for Humanity

    • Assist the organization in building a home for veterans

  • Senior Dominican Republic Missions Trip

    • Annual week long trip to DR

    • TCS has served churches, pastors, schools, hospitals, orphanages, and the DR community for the last 20 years

Other Spiritual Life initiatives include

  • Weekly Chapels

  • Spiritual Life Conference (on-campus)

  • Spiritual Life Retreat (PA)

Prospective Student Athletes

We are looking to recruit student athletes who are great examples of body, mind and spirit. Exemplary character/ability on the court, in the classroom and in the community. If someone is still developing in one of these areas, their potential and teachability will be what is assessed. We ultimately want to build student athletes up and help them in their development on and off the court. If parents/student athletes are willing to partner to maximize their growth in these three areas, we believe TCS is the right place to be.
